Halloween Cookies!

Another late-in-the-day post, but I got a card made! This will go out next year. But I made paper cookies!!

I used the SUO Challenges inspiration photo. I didn't really have the Halloween images in the photo, but I do have a cookie cutter set, haha, and I have the shown colors. I stamped the cookies on Basic Beige hoping they'd look like lightly browned sugar cookies. They do not, but it's okay, hahaha....the colors show up better on Basic Beige than they would on Crumb Cake. I am not a coloring perfectionist and I decided to lean in to that and call it icing! And then the circles that come with punching out the gingerbread shape became sprinkles that are scattered on the table with the cookies!
Supplies:
Stamps: Cookie Cutter Halloween, Buffalo Check
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends: Dark & Light Granny Apple Green, Dark & Light Pumpkin Pie, Dark Basic Black, Dark Highland Heather, Light Blackberry Bliss
Paper: Basic Beige, Basic Black & Granny Apple Green card stocks
Accessories: Cookie Cutter Punch, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Daisy Birthday!

ohhkay, one more green card, hahaha!
This one uses the inspiration photo from Inspired By... The background stamp is retired but the rest is current. I even used a bit of wood DP to pull in the chair in the photo! I have never used these particular dies.

Supplies:
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies, Buffalo Check (retired)
Ink: Granny Apple Green
Paper: Basic White card stock, Country Woods DP
Accessories: Brass Butterflies, Cheerful Daisies Dies, Dimensionals

We Create Blog Hop: Cut It Out!

Happy Monday! A new month begins today and that means we've got a new blog hop, ready to inspire you!

Today, the sun is shining and the forecast is spring weather this week. So I chose to play with a sweet new-to-me stamp set from the Mini Catalog. Our theme today is "Cut It Out", featuring either die cuts or punches and I used both! I also used the sketch from The Paper Players.

Supplies:
Stamps: Garden Wishes, Buffalo Check
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizazz, Crushed Curry
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Linen Thread, Wink of Stella, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Dandy Wishes Dies, Dimensionals, Big Shot

We Create Blog Hop: Whatevs

February already?! We only got our first real snowfall of 2021 this weekend, and it's already melting away...! Hopefully it's snowy where you are!

This month we're making whatever we're in the mood to make, and snow and cold temperatures were the inspiration for my card today! I actually combined a few challenges and might be too late for one or two... But I like what I created and I've got it in the mailbox this morning too!
I took the Freshly Made Sketch with the colors from Color Throwdown, along with the theme from TGIF Challenges, and all that together made this:

Supplies:
Stamps: Winter Woods, Buffalo Check
Ink: Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight, Misty Moonlight marker
Paper: Blushing Bride, Misty Moonlight, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Accessories: Wink of Stella, Dimensionals, Circle Dies, Big Shot (retired)

Here's a different shot to maybe better see the icy Wink of Stella I painted all over the trees.
Now hop on over to Libby's blog and see what she's created to inspire you today!

Then hop on through and let us know what you think of our work! We love feedback and knowing that our creations brightened your day too! Happy February!

Fussy Cut Flowers

The cards I made today used a LOT of product, haha.... Usually I stick to one stamp set and maybe it's coordinating dies. That's a lot less overwhelming if you're new and looking in to creating with me. Today I just used a bunch of different things!
I also combined challenges... I used the colors, plaid and flowers from Global Design Project to CASE the designer, and I used the Mojo Monday sketch for my card. And! I know exactly who it is going to!

Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies, Well Said, Buffalo Check
Ink: Seaside Spray, Misty Moonlight, Highland Heather, Basic Gray, Misty Moonlight marker
Paper: Whisper White, Highland Heather & Misty Moonlight card stocks
Accessories: Well Written dies, Tin Tile embossing folder, Seaside Spray ribbon, Wink of Stella pen, Glue Dots, Fine Tip Glue Pen, big shot (retired)

And for further details, I have Wink of Stella on the flower centers, for the silver in the sample card. I used the straight edge from my Big Shot to draw the lines to make the background more "plaid".

Best Donkey

Happy Monday to you! Ready for another week?
I needed a thank you card and I wanted to feature something from Sale-A-Bration, so this is what I made! I used the Mojo Monday sketch, and the TGIF challenge to use a background stamp, and ended up with a lot of texture on a card with no actual dimension, haha. Whoops, I lied... the donkey is popped up on Dimensionals. But the rest of the texture is visual. I love that this DP makes it so easy!
Supplies:
Stamps: Darling Donkeys, Buffalo Check background
Ink: Cinnamon Cider, Gray Granite, Crushed Curry marker, Just Jade marker
Paper: Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla card stocks, In Good Taste DP
Accessories: Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Circle Dies, Big Shot (retired)

If I'd thought ahead, I would have used Bumblebee instead of Crushed Curry, and then the colors would have all been in the same marker pack, but I didn't, lol. And it worked out anyway. I'm sure there's some Monday wisdom in that sentence....

Hot Chocolate!

This morning I looked up a bunch of challenge blogs I enjoy, gathered supplies and eventually, haha, had some time to put one of the cards together! For this one, I used the Fusion challenge, with both the sketch and the inspiration photo.
I thought it was funny that I had grabbed the Buffalo Check background stamp without even really noticing that there was a a black and white buffalo check table cloth in the photo! I just really liked how the plaid DP that retired Jan 4 looked so good with these cups, and I tried for a different style "blanket". I stamped it on an angle, and snipped around the edges (which I don't think I'll do again, haha) to make it look fringed and add some cozy texture.
Mine is obviously a mug of hot chocolate, and the cup is "colored" with Wink of Stella, even tho you can't see it. And the inside, which I forgot to photograph and the sun is long gone, says "because adulting is hard". mmhmmm!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Nothing's Better Than, Buffalo Check background
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Love You More Than dies, Flowers For Every Season ribbon, Metallic Pearls, Wink of Stella, Fine Tip Glue Pen Circle dies (retired), Big Shot (retired)

And! This card is going out in the morning!
Have you sent a card this month? Send some!

Old Paper Pumpkin Thanks!

Today I decided to pull out some Paper Pumpkin kits and try to crank out a bunch of thank you's...and some autumn hugs! And then I had another idea. First I got to work with finishing off the Layered Leaves kit from Sept 2017. The kit has tiny cards and gift pouches. I prefer standard, full size cards, so I just use the layered stack on a full size card like this:
Supplies:
Stamps: Buffalo Check, Sept 2017 Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Cajun Craze
Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake card stock, Sept 2017 Paper Pumpkin
Accessories: Sept 2017 Paper Pumpkin

Or, like this:
Supplies:
Stamps: Sept 2017 Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Cajun Craze
Paper: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede card stock, Sept 2017 Paper Pumpkin
Accessories: Woodland Embossing Folder, Sept 2017 Paper Pumpkin

My other idea was that since *I am not going to use these tiny and cute cards, maybe someone else would! So I went ahead and assembled them anyway, and figure I'll sell them in bundles of four, for $5 total. These are 3x3 cards, with coordinating envelopes. They are NOT mailable as they are, but they're great for dropping off a little something, or including in a package.

And, if there is interest, I can sell these gift pouches for $1.50 each, or all four for $5. Assembled, it measures 5"x2.75". It's a card stock "pillow box" that can hold anything that small.
And! I think I'm gonna see what else I could possibly sell, and put these cute Paper Pumpkin kits to better use spreading joy than gathering literal dust in my basement! haha!

Father's Day Bunny

Happy Friday!
Today's card uses the colors from the Paper Players blog, along with the Freshly Made Sketch that ended earlier this week.
When I first saw the colors I thought "Christmas" but I needed Father's Day.... and I think it worked out just fine.
Supplies:
Stamps: Nature's Beauty, Well Said, Buffalo Check
Ink: Real Red, Basic Gray
Paper: Real Red, Tranquil Tide & Whisper White card stock
Accessories Linen Thread, Dimensionals

Traditional Christmas

Card week continues!
Today I have a simple card with traditional colors and images. It could be simple stamping but it requires four different stamp sets soooo... haha! And the wreath is a bit fussy to make. Anyway, it also meets two challenges- the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the SUO Challenge. I used the colors and the Buffalo Check, a wreath and a cardinal. And I'm really happy with how it turned out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Buffalo Check, Nature's Beauty (leaf for the wreath), Itty Bitty Christmas, October 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit (cardinal)
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green
Paper: Very Vanilla & Garden Green card stocks
Accessories: Metallic Pearls

The pearls are a little bit lost, but maybe you can see them better here?
I am still not even close to ready for Christmas, how about you? Off to get more done, haha!

Winter & Autumn

Today's post may look just a bit familiar...!
The first one was intentional. I wanted to redesign THIS rabbit card to fit my Christmas Card class. I wanted some blue, so I went with the Buffalo Check background in Navy. Love it! Here's how it turned out:
Supplies:
Stamps: Nature's Beauty, Buffalo Check
Ink: Night of Navy, Memento Black, Smoky Slate
Paper: Smoky Slate & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: White Bakers Twine, Metallic Pearls, Wink of Stella, Dimensionals

Of course, then I also realized I've already used this set, with Buffalo Check, in blue at the last card class... awesome. At least I know what I like! haha!!

And then I've been wanting to do the Buffalo Check with an orangey color, for fall. So I put this together and then realized that both cards were practically the same as the first time around! Nice... ha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Nature's Beauty, Buffalo Check
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Cajun Craze, Basic Black & Very Vanilla card stocks

I'm gonna keep telling you- this animal stamp set is a great one. For every set sold, $3 goes to mental health organizations and that is a VERY good thing.

Mental Health Day

Apparently today is National Mental Health Day. In the Holiday Mini, Stampin' Up! has a new fundraiser set, and for every set sold, $3 will go to mental health organizations! I know of several family members and friends who have turned to mental health organizations, so that is important to me.

This time I used this sweet deer, and some soft autumnal colors for a calm card. This is the final card for my October class, and I kept it "simple" with just stamps, ink and paper so it can easily go for a guy or a girl. It's not technically simple because it uses three stamp sets, but I needed a word, haha.
Supplies:
Stamps: Nature's Beauty, Buffalo Check, Very Versailles
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Seaside Spray, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla card stocks

Anyway, I recommend you get this set because it's quick and cute, versatile, AND goes towards a worthy cause. Also, if you or someone close to you needs help, there is help available. Speak up. Support each other. (((HUGS))) to you, whatever is going on in your world today!

Beautiful Day

Happy Monday! That's right- I still have things to share with you!

Today's card might look familiar. I actually designed it for a class clear back at the beginning of March. I wanted to use a Sale-A-Bration stamp with this sweet Buffalo Check in a card class. But I wasn't able to schedule a class til June. I debated using the retired stamp set and then decided to show how you can create the same card, just swap out what you don't have with something you do have! See?
Supplies:
Stamps: Love What You Do, Buffalo Check
Ink: Rococo Rose
Paper: Very Vanilla & Early Espresso card stock
Accessories: Linen Thread, Big Shot, Circle Dies, Dimensionals

I like that I swapped the words and image from the original card. The updated card also uses a brand new In Color, Rococo Rose! I like this one a lot!

Home To Roost

Well, hooray for Friday, ha... It's been mostly good but a crazy week around here. I had hoped to start working on a class plan for March, since we're well in to it now, and I guess today was the day!

I knew I wanted to play with this rooster, and I wanted to use the Buffalo Check. I wasn't sure what else, so I ended up trying a few things and colors and ideas and then put them both together. You should know- this rooster and the greetings are part of a cute set you can get FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration, which ends March 31! Don't miss out!

This is the one we'll make at my next class:
Supplies:
Stamps: Home To Roost, Buffalo Check
Ink: Real Red, Early Espresso
Paper: Very Vanilla & Early Espresso card stock
Accessories: Linen Thread, Big Shot, Circle Dies, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

And this is the one with the other pieces, haha. I'll still show this, sometimes you want a bolder background, and it nicely shows that either sentiment fits in the circle. Also, I did different things with the thread.
Supplies:
Stamps:  Home To Roost, Buffalo Check
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Very Vanilla & Real Red card stock
Accessories: Linen Thread, Big Shot, Circle Dies, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Maybe one of these days very soon I'll get to color this rooster in, but I like him like this too!

Bright Little Note

I got to stamp yesterday, and I also planned out a few more cards to make, haha, so hopefully I'll get a little more stamping time soon! Do you ever do that? I couldn't decide which set I wanted to play with, so I came up with a few ideas, then I picked one!

For this one, I used the latest Fab Friday sketch, and made a cute, happy card for my upcoming class! It also definitely qualifies for the #simplestamping challenge, since I really only used stamps, ink and paper!
Supplies:
Stamps: Wishing You Well, Buffalo Check
Ink: Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist
Paper: Melon Mambo, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Dimensionals

I left the actual banner off from the sketch, but I put the greeting in the same spot, so it should work. I liked the bright colors to off set the huge storm we had yesterday. I'm really happy with how it turned out, which is always a good thing! Let me know if you want to attend my class!

Christmas Wreath Options!

Really, it's all the same card, I just tried out three different plaids to see what I liked best, and then had to get an opinion before offering it to my class!
It looks an awful lot like the last time I used this set, but this time I picked a sketch off Splitcoaststampers.com.
Supplies:
Stamps: Buffalo Check, Wishing You Well
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizazz
Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizazz & Real Red card stocks
Accessories: Circle Dies, Big Shot, Dimensionals
Supplies:
Stamps: Buffalo Check, Wishing You Well
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizazz, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizazz & Cherry Cobbler card stocks
Accessories: Circle Dies, Big Shot, Dimensionals
Supplies:
Stamps: Buffalo Check, Wishing You Well
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizazz
Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizazz & Cherry Cobbler card stocks

Do you have a favorite of these?

Mail those cards!

Since I intend to mail out a lot of cards in the next few weeks, I figure I'll need to add to my stash.  Also, I wanted to break up all the Christmas cards since it is still early November... you're welcome? So I picked these stamp sets (looove this combo!) and thought I'd go for autumn. Um, I missed the fall part, haha, but, I still love the card, so here you go.
The card is based off the Fab Friday sketch, but I used my new circle dies instead of squares...
Supplies:
Stamps: Buffalo Check, Wishing You Well
Ink: Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo & Mint Macaron card stocks
Accessories: White Bakers Twine, Circle Dies, Big Shot

However, this card isn't going in my stash, it has a home to go to. Are you mailing any thank you cards this month? How much would it brighten someone's day?

Cozy Winter

When the Holiday Mini came out, I loved this bundle. I didn't get it right away and I have seen tons of ideas online and had many more of my own ideas too- so of course then I had to get it! I really do love it and can't wait to make more cards with it. It really is so versatile and I can think of many occasions I could use this set!

This is the final card for my upcoming class. I love the Buffalo Check background and today's card I think has a cozy, flannely feel to it. This is a pretty close CASE of THIS card on Pinterest, but I wanted to use blue for more cold, winteryness. And, I actually made two versions because I couldn't pick which tree I preferred, haha! So I glued down one, and set the other on top, and will let class attendees decide which one they want!

Supplies:
Stamps: Winter Woods
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Very Vanilla & Bermuda Bay card stock
Accessories: Vanilla Bakers Twine, Big Shot, Circle Dies, Dimensionals

If you want, here's a fun little video Stampin' Up! put together showing some ideas you can do with the bundle. It's a keeper!

Buffalo Check & Flowers

I need to mail out a good stack of cards, so I may as well make some new ones! Also, I really want to play with my new Buffalo Check background more! haha.... This time I thought I'd pair it with my favorite flowers from the Love What You Do stamp set, and I couldn't pick a color, so I did two.

First I used Soft Suede.
Supplies:
Stamps: Love What You Do, Buffalo Check
Ink: Soft Suede, Crushed Curry
Paper: Soft Suede, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Burlap Ribbon, Dimensionals

And then I did some Blackberry Bliss!
Supplies:
Stamps: Love What You Do, Buffalo Check
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Paper: Very Vanilla & Blackberry Bliss card stock
Accessories: Burlap Ribbon, Dimensionals

I know exactly where both cards are going and I don't have a favorite! ha! Do you have a preference?

World Card Making Day 2

Here is a second card to inspire you today- using the same stamp set as before but going for a rather different look. Earlier I have a crisp card, now I have a distressed, comfy card. In the last 6 weeks, we've suddenly lost my cousin, and a dear friend. This card will be going to one of the family members. I thought a cozy look would be a good thing to receive in the mail and I hope I'm right. Also, again, I love this font.

I took a great deal of inspiration from THIS beautiful card to make mine. I inked up my fabulous new Buffalo Check background stamp with Night of Navy and flipped it rubber side up. I used a panel of Gray Granite card stock, laid on the stamp, and rubbed my fingers across it to get it fully inked. Then I stuck the corner in the palm of my hand and rubbed the paper back and forth til it was nicely "roughed up". I did the same to the corners of the vanilla piece too. I think it works great with the background stamp, and again, I hope it's a little like a hug in the mail.
Supplies:
Stamps: Wishing You Well, Buffalo Check
Ink: Night of Navy, Gray Granite
Paper: Night of Navy, Gray Granite & Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Linen Thread

Have you mailed any cards lately? I actually need to get about five cards in the mail right about now, but this is a good start...!
