Red Rose Taverne

Happy Saturday! This one is going live a bit later than usual, but here it is!
These photos were all taken indoors, at night, so they're a little tricky to scrap. Also I used darker shades which might have made it worse... But of course I had to use a red rose! We didn't eat here, just went inside to look around and get some photos of some movie props, ha!

Supplies:
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral - long retired
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Cherry Cobbler card stock
Accessories: Early Espresso quilted satin ribbon - long retired

Father's Day!

is in just three days and I haven't sent anything out all.
Clearly it was time to bust out this cute new set that I purchased a couple months ago and haven't touched other than to assemble it....

This image could be me and my brother with my dad, or my two younger siblings, or my big kids with my husband! I "cut out" the fishing poles by putting scotch tape over the poles after inking and before stamping. Then I used some recent color challenges to color them in. Both cards use the sketch from Global Design Project. They also use the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge...ish. It was Pear Pizazz, Basic Gray and Blushing Bride. I subbed the green and pink slightly. And then I accidentally and/or unintentionally used Smoky Slate instead of Basic Gray. Sooo... "ish".

On this first one, I used the Watercolor Pencils and used Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive, and then a smidge of Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight.

Supplies:
Stamps: Beside Me
Ink: Stazon Black
Paper: Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pen, Classic Matte Dots, Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, big shot (retired)

On the second, I used the same colored Stampin' Blends, plus the Daffodil Delight, Bronze, Ivory and Light Petal Pink. And I think it worked both times too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Beside Me
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin Blends: Light & Dark Flirty Flamingo, Light & Dark Smoky Slate, Light & Dark Old Olive, Bronze, Ivory, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Petal Pink
Paper: Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Classic Matte Dots, Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, big shot (retired)

Today's retired supplies thank you card, (ha!) was just me playing around. I played with the two colors I thought my girl would like the most, and this fun swirl. The sketch is a recent card sketch from splitcoaststampers.com

Paper: Very Vanilla card stock, Retro Fresh DP

Typed Thanks!

Soo I decided that if I'm going to use retired things for these graduation thank you notes, I may as well make the whole card retired product, haha. And that's what this one is! 100% retired product! But I do love this typewriter and should definitely use it more often!
This card also uses a recent sketch from splitcoaststampers.com

Fall Scrapbooking

I'm interrupting the Thank You cards to share a little more of the scrapbooking I did the last little while for this same kid. haha... Altho actually this one took a little turn.

It was one of those days where I lay out several ideas and get to what I get to. And this was one I didn't get to... So when I went back to it I forgot what I was going to do and tried to just play with the newest In Colors and see how it went.
Supplies:
Stamps: Alphabest, Painted Seasons (SAB retired)
Ink: Pebbled Path, Copper Clay, Pumpkin Pie, Tahitian Tide
Paper: Petals & Paisley's DP, Copper Clay & Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Copper Cord

And I really like how it ended up- look how fun that is!

The problem was...I realized those colors were waaay more "for my son" than my daughter. And I also realized I had not yet scrapped it for him. Soo he got the first set and I made a second set for her! ha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Kinda Eclectic
Ink: Boho Blue, Moody Mauve, Wild Wheat, Copper Clay
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock
Accessories: 2023 In Color Dots

Retired Butterflies!

In continuing to make thank you cards for my recently graduated daughter to send out, I keep trying to make challenges work and then thinking "thaaat's not really her..." I finally asked her to choose ten of her favorite shades from my ink stash, and then pulled out some retired stamp sets that *are her.

So for today, I used a sketch that ended last week but I still liked, from Inspire.Create.Challenges and two totally different, old butterfly images. Same sketch, same colors, different images. And while the colors are current, everything else is retired.
Supplies:
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, A Touch of Ink
Ink: Boho Blue, Fresh Freesia, Starry Sky
Paper: Basic White & Fresh Freesia card stocks
Accessories: forgotten Paper Pumpkin gems

Bright Thanks!

Happy Monday!
I have another bright and quick thank you card for my daughter to send out! This one uses the color challenge from Color Throwdown and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. The Dots are retired, but maybe you still have some, and if you do, here's your reminder to use them!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sending Smiles
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Parakeet Party
Paper: Basic White & Parakeet Party card stocks
Accessories: 2022-24 In Color Matte Dots

The gradient look on the Crushed Curry "sending" makes me laugh. It's just an ink pad that could stand a re-inking on the end...

Disney Parade

Since I mentioned this parade last week, I should probably share it, haha! We actually saw some of this pass three days before, while we were in line for I think Alice In Wonderland, but we didn't have any idea what it was, lol. We were excited to figure it out, haha, and catch a spot near the beginning! This was a great way to see a variety of characters, because when we were there they were still all roped off, waaay more than six feet away from us. This is the same parade Anna was part of, and she was in the bus on the top right corner, with a bunch of other princesses.

We Create Blog Hop: Patterns Everywhere

Happy June!! 2023 is half over!! What?! I have absolutely no idea what I just said, but I do have two cards for you today so there's that.

Our theme this month is Patterns, and really it's to make you aware of the sale on DP this month only. You can view and the discounted DP by clicking HERE. You can also place an order while you're there!

I don't have any current DP at the moment, but I do know that often people get frustrated and/or disappointed that they "can't" make something with the supplies they have. So let me show you how to make your own patterns with what you DO have- stamps and ink! And this time I used the latest sketch from The Paper Players

First, I stamped the floral backgrounds. I stamped flowers all the way across so it could be a sheet of DP or whatever. But it's really a background image. Then I created the greeting panel making a pattern of the greetings. This is a trick I was taught at the very first Stampin' Up! workshop I ever attended. Repeat the greeting and voila! You have a pattern!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sending Smiles
Ink: Boho Blue, Soft Sea Foam, Daffodil Delight, Memento Black
Paper: Boho Blue, Basic White, Basic Black
Accessories: Black Gingham Ribbon, Sending Dies, Fine Tip Glue Pen, big shot (retired)

Supplies:
Stamps: Sending Smiles
Ink: Fresh Freesia, Soft Sea Foam, Daffodil Delight, Memento Black
Paper: Fresh Freesia, Basic White, Basic Black
Accessories: Black Gingham Ribbon, Sending Dies, Fine Tip Glue Pen, big shot (retired)

Now hop along to Cheryl's blog using the button below. Then hop on over to see what everyone has created for you, (we're a quick hop) and leave us your thoughts too!

Then make something pretty yourself! Or, place an order for some pretty patterned paper!
