Any of this can sell out before the new catalog arrives, so don't wait to place your orders!

Pastel Flowers

Today I've combined the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, with the color challenge from The Paper Players, and I'm playing along again with SUO Challenges too!

First I used the Pastels Challenge for a slightly more colorful card. Some yellow, green, pink and honestly, even the beige strikes me as a pastel...
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Simply Said
Ink: Lemon Lolly, Soft Seafoam
Paper: Basic Beige, Country Woods DP
Accessories: Earth Tones Shimmer Gems

Then I did a version with just pinks. Because cutting that darn flower out more than once was fine.... It is not fine, lol. But I *do like how it turns out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Soft Seafoam
Paper: Basic Beige, Country Woods DP
Accessories: 2024-26 In Color Resin Dots

Another Easter Layout

Happy Monday!
I have a simple layout for you this morning. All of the paper here is current, which is not typical for my scrapping. The butterfly stamps are current too! The title stamps, and the dots are not.
When this girl was little, her favorite books were the little Beatrix Potter books, which is exactly what this paper looks like, so I had to get it. And then I didn't use anything particularly Beatrix Potter on her layout, lol... Its still super pretty!
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Taffy Alpha (retired), Classic Alpha Numbers (retired)
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Pool Party card stock, Storybook Moments DP
Accessories: Classic Matte Dots (retired)

Here's a close up of this fun paper. I'm still debating on the stamps and dies..... The whole product suite really is SO cute!!
And here's the sheet of die cuts. There are actually two of these sheets, which is fun!
What are you making today?

Yellow Daisies!

Good morning! My little sickie is back to school and we should get some snow today and tomorrow!
Today's card only has a bit of green, haha, but it does use the same dies as yesterday. This one uses the inspiration photo from TGIF Challenges, and it happily fits The Paper Players challenge, and SUO Challenges too. I didn't line up the two layered daisy stamps super well, but I think it worked anyway. I know who this card is going to, too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies
Ink: Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Pecan Pie
Paper: Lemon Lolly, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Earth Tones Shimmer Gems, Cheerful Dies, Dimensionals, big shot

Daisy Birthday!

ohhkay, one more green card, hahaha!
This one uses the inspiration photo from Inspired By... The background stamp is retired but the rest is current. I even used a bit of wood DP to pull in the chair in the photo! I have never used these particular dies.

Supplies:
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies, Buffalo Check (retired)
Ink: Granny Apple Green
Paper: Basic White card stock, Country Woods DP
Accessories: Brass Butterflies, Cheerful Daisies Dies, Dimensionals

Bright Green Birthday!

So far, my March posts are all green, haha... two posts in... It won't last.
But for today, I've got a fun, quick birthday card, using the Festive Friday challenge. I have green, gold and metallic thread on this card. The DP has a watercolor look, but I don't think that counts, ha.
Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Said
Ink: Granny Apple Green
Paper: Basic White, Basic Black, Full of Life DP
Accessories: Transparent Dots, Gold Metallic Thread (I think from an old PP kit), Dimensionals

With Sympathy

Hello again, and welcome to March!

Today's card was a last second decision to send a sympathy card. A young man who is my sons age, and he was also in my husband's boy scout group a few years ago, passed away from cancer last week. I haven't interacted with this family much for the last few years, because we moved away and they moved away, but I sent his mother a card. We still live within the same community, so I was able to determine her address.

I used a Blending Brush to add some Soft Seafoam to the card front (and honestly, whatever other shades are on the brush). Then I stamped off once, the text stamp in Garden Green. I fussy cut out the leaf, and popped it up on Dimensionals. The greeting has been retired a few years, but it was a nice sympathy word, so it's good. The dots are also long retired, but it's fine. They're actually Wild Wasabi colored, ha.
Supplies:
Stamps: Elements of Text, Spotlight On Nature, Special Moments (retired)
Ink: Soft Seafoam, Garden Green, Shaded Spruce
Paper: Basic White card stock
Accessories: Subtles Candy Dots (retired), Dimensionals

I used the latest sketch from Inspire.Create.Challenge and made a pretty card, perfect for spring!

Butterflies!

Today we're back to our standard style posts. I am much less wordy, ha.
Today's card uses the Color Throwdown colors with the latest CAS Colours & Sketches sketch! Once again I combined these two stamp sets. I stamped the rectangle text twice, overlapping slightly, but the die cut circles hide that so it works!
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Elements of Text
Ink: Petunia Pop, Pretty Peacock
Paper: Petunia Pop, Basic White & Lemon Lime Twist card stocks
Accessories: 2024-26 In Color Resin Dots, circle dies (retired), big shot (retired)

Scrapbooking Kit!

So I *am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, and I do have a few customers who order from me. As such, I will try out the new products if I feel they can be useful to me- ideally, so that I can point customers in that direction and answer their questions. When Close To My Heart closed their doors last year, Stampin' Up! purchase the remaining inventory and offered a deal to their Makers to join us. And Stampin' Up! decided to step back into carrying "official" scrapbooking products.

You know I've been using Stampin' Up! products almost exclusively for my scrapbooking for the last 22 years. Why not use quality and coordinating paper, ink, and alphabet stamps if nothing else- but most of their "regular" stamps work perfectly too!!
But there have been a few of these new scrapbooking kits that I have been interested in. When this one hit the Last Chance Products list, I decided that was a perfect time to give these kits a try and see what I think. I also snagged some of the Two-Tone card stock packs, altho mostly because there was a discount on 12x12 card stock, which is how I prefer to scrapbook! As I write this, this exact kit, Two-Tone card stock, and more are currently on the Last Chance Products you can find (and order from!) right HERE.

So let me show you what I cranked out the other morning, in the space of about an hour. I had selected my photos and this kit and that's all I did ahead of time. I didn't follow any of the kit instructions (helloooo Paper Pumpkin kits!) but I had fun using a bunch of little coordinating things on these pages. And the only thing I "added" was inspired by the kit. Even "suggested", if you will. ha!

These are all the same photo shoot, and they may have needed scrapped for several years... The supplies all came in the same package, but the pages still feel different!
On these two single pages, I cut the base in half at the 6inch mark, and flipped the top to the other side of the Two-Tone card stock. It's subtle, but it adds a bit of interest!

Supplies:
Autumn To Remember Scrapbooking Workshop Kit, Glue Dots
Old Olive ink, Blending Brush, Pattern Party Decorative Mask (retired)
(Crushed Curry, Petal Pink & Old Olive Two-Tone card stocks)

The only thing I added was that I pulled an old (retired) Decorative Mask and added a bit of Old Olive ink on the second page of the double, behind the photos. The idea came from the paper stripes in the kit, but it's just a thin paper, meant to be an accent, so I didn't know if it would hold up to the Blending Brush or not. The masked worked just fine. Everything else came from the kit!

And in case it sells out before you get a chance to click on the kit, here's what comes with it, so you can decide if that's worth the cost to you.
First the suggested layouts have a complete photo so you can see what you'd end up with. On the bottom of that front sheet, it tells you to select specific photos, which is cool actually.
Then it shows you exactly how to cut each sheet to get all the pretty prints on your pages!
Then it comes with all these pretty supplies:
The pretty paper- the top corner are single sided, the lower set are double sided and I showed both sides.
The top two sheets are die cuts. The smaller wood sheet is die cuts. The bottom right corner are stickers. I like all of them.
And this is the card stock that is included in this kit.
It even has photo place holder cards if you want to just make up the kit but don't have photos for it yet. Personally I don't do that, but maybe that's what works for you.

Finally, this is the Two-Tone card stock pack that coordinates, which I got, and stashed in the same pack as the kit!
It was worth it to me, even tho the last thing I need is more "pretty paper", hahaha! I have soo much in my craft room...!!

Busy Birthday!

This card is going out late, because migraines have that effect on my card making and mailing life. However, I think the birthday boy will be happy with it, and that is the part that matters.

I used the latest Freshly Made Sketch for this one. I haven't used this triangle print before but I like it! Maybe it made it all too busy, but I still think it worked. The balloons are suuuper old. Like maybe my third catalog old, and I'm about to hit 21 years as a demo..... !! But it was where I could think of a balloon stamp, so that's what I pulled.
Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Said, Sock Monkey
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black marker
Paper: Lemon Lime Twist & Basic White card stock, Bright & Beautiful DP
Accessories: Transparent Dots

Purple Birthday!

Today's card is extra happy because I was already thinking about having these flowers hang over the circle text somehow and did you see the latest from Freshly Made Sketches? Perfect match!

I fussy cut out the flowers, and layered Gorgeous Grape flowers over the whole image in Soft Seafoam. I am loving the texture and layers. I'm not always good at the layers, but I am very happy with today's card!

Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Elements of Text, Happiness Abounds (retired)

All the reds in a wreath!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you get to enjoy lots of time today with loved ones and some of the good chocolate, ha!

Remember at Christmas when I made seven of this style of card? ha..... (If you forgot, start HERE) Well, that is what I thought of when I saw the latest challenge from Inspired By...
Then, when I went sifting thru my Paper Pumpkin stamp collection to find the little dot, I found a tiny heart!! That was too perfect!
And! The color challenge from SUO Challenges was also a perfect match because I needed a lot of shades for this card! Yeay!! I didn't use ALL the shades, only five inks and one additional color in the embellishments. But yeay!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Good Greetings (retired!)
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Poppy Parade, Real Red
Paper: Pretty in Pink & Basic White card stock
Accessories: Encircled In Nature Dies, Party Dots, Regal Foiled Dots, Glue Dots

Butterfly Celebration!

Today's card is bright, and today's weather is dark and snowy....but not really sticking....darnit.
Anyway, I got to play with new stamps and new dots and the fun color combo from CAS Colours & Sketches

I got the butterfly stamp FREE with Sale-A-Bration, but that means I didn't get the dies, so I fussy cut that big butterfly out! But he had to go on top of the text sooo, you gotta do what you gotta do. I don't know if you can tell, but the butterfly is Melon Mambo, even tho the mat is Poppy Parade. I promise they're all there.
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Elements of Text
Ink: Melon Mambo, Summer Splash
Paper: Summer Splash, Poppy Parade, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Sunny Day Dots, Dimensionals

Pink Post!

Happy Monday afternoon! I think everyone is well and back to life around here! That means I get to stamp!

I like the Stamped With Love set, but I struggle to make it work on a card. As soon as I saw the Elements of Text set in the Online Exclusives section, I knew these would work well together! So for it's first run in my craft room, I used the latest Color Throwdown challenge and I'm happy with my creation!
Supplies:
Stamps: Stamped With Love, Elements of Text
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Pecan Pie
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Iridescent Foil Gems, Dimensionals

Pink Daisy!

This card is a re-creation of THIS card. That one seems to have just come of my own ideas, and today's was simply that I am out of ideas but I needed to invite people to my upcoming class. So I changed it up a bit and now people know!
I like block stamping. It didn't work so well in a recent post, but I love it this way. And the die cuts make over laying an image so much easier.
Supplies:
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lolly
Paper: Flirty Flamingo & Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Brass Butterflies, Cheerful Daisies Dies, Dimensionals, big shot

Black and white and

green and gold!
Today's card is a fun one! It is for the Just Add Ink color challenge. I was stumped for a second, and honestly I wish (for like the first time ever) that I had gold embossing powder, but I am not a fan of gold so I do not. However, this worked out and I really like it!
I left the flowers white, and used a Blender Pen and ink pad to color the leaves.
Supplies:
Stamps: Layers of Beauty
Ink: Memento Black, Summer Splash, Wild Wheat
Paper: Basic White, Basic Black, Summer Splash card stocks
Accessories: Iridescent Foil Gems, Layers of Beauty Dies, Blender Pens, big shot

Rainy Days

At this point, I would take rain! I know lots and lots of places are enjoying snow, but we have not had much... If we can't play in the snow, we could still play in the rain...!

I don't often play with a sketch more than once, but here we are again, with round two of the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch! Again... not so much CAS, but very simple...

This one might end up for a card class too. I don't *love the marker coloring, but it kind of looks wet and messy like one would in the rain, ha, so somehow it works.
Supplies:
Stamps: Umbrella Days
Ink: Memento Black, Smoky Slate
Stampin' Write Markers: Coastal Cabana, Pretty Peacock, Blackberry Bliss, Basic Black, Crushed Curry
Paper: Basic White card stock, Bloom Impressions DP (Sale-A-Bration freebie!)
Accessories: Dimensionals

Just a quick tip on adding the DP to the back... I really hate wasting pretty paper, so I drew lines to mark the size of my rectangle onto the back of the card front
Then I tear within that space:
Line up both edges along those marks, and use a smidge of scotch tape to attach it.
Super simple!

Sledding!

Happy Monday to you! I know it's even colder in some areas, but it was 10* when I dropped my kiddo off at school this morning, and that is the coldest it's been for her to be out, this season. Sure wish there was snow in the forecast...

Anyway, I have been getting some scrapping done this month! Even more than I hoped to, which is always a good things. Especially since I am again getting comments about all sorts of things still not scrapped...! (thank you facebook memories that remind me of things that need done...!) So here is a long-overdue event, finally in my son's book!

Supplies:
Stamps: Welcome Christmas, Whimsical Numbers (long retired)
Ink: Lost Lagoon
Paper: Basic White, All is Calm DP (long retired)

Happy Friday!! I think we made it...! I've got a little sickie at home, but I've still managed to get some crafting done.

Perfect Pairs!

I went looking for some challenges to play with this morning, and the newest from Freshly Made Sketches just struck me! I could think of a bunch of possibilities!! I really wanted to play with my newest set, Perfect Pairs, which just like yesterday, is from the Online Exclusives section. So for today, we'll just use these ideas for the sketch, ha.

This first card also uses the colors from CAS Colours & Sketches...almost. I grabbed Peach Pie instead of Pumpkin Pie...but I did add a strip of Pumpkin Pie....
And since I'm using a brand new to me stamp set (its only a month or two old...!) it qualifies for the Just Add Ink challenge to use "something new"! And a lot of fussy cutting!

I added color to the puzzle pieces with the same ink-on-blocks technique I used yesterday. I like today's result better, haha....
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pairs
Ink: Early Espresso, Peach Pie
Paper: Basic White, Old Olive, Peach Pie, Pumpkin Pie card stocks
Accessories: Earth Tones Shimmer Gems, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pairs
Ink: Memento Black, Boho Blue
Stampin' Blends: Bronze, Dark Basic Black, Light Balmy Blue, Light Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Basic White & Boho Blue card stocks

Same set, same sketch, completely different cards. I love that!!

Storms and Sun

Seems to me that across the US, including family living in unlikely areas, are getting way more snow than we are. It was a very dry December and we've only had one good storm the whole season, and that was January 4th, and what you see there, and this picture is deceptive, ha. But it was only good the first day, since then it's dried out and is hard, and not fun to play in. The last couple of days it has "snowed" most of the day, but we're not accumulating anything... Hopefully the mountains are, because that's what impacts the "water year" the most.
The other thing about the snowfall since Sunday, is that a lot of the time, the sun is shining as it's flurry-ing. Like this:
I got this new stamp set called Umbrella Days (in the Online Exclusives section!) and I love the sentiments it comes with! I can think of so many people who could use a card reminding them that the storms (of life) will end and the sun will shine. Also, I love these umbrella people!
I also got this new DP from the Sale-A-Bration brochure and it might be my new favorite! Every sheet, both sides, are so pretty!!
So when I saw that one of the sheets matched a color challenge from The Paper Players, I knew what I was making! I actually thought I'd make a little set and color the girl slightly differently, but that only kind of worked, ha.....
This first one did not work. I just laid the die cut girl on the card to show the idea that might work better for someone else, hahaha..... I was going for a more abstract look, instead of perfection. I used blocks to ink up the image. The boots worked, ha! But the umbrella made it a mess...
and then I didn't line up the die quite straight, so that one got tossed. HA.

For this one, I used Watercolor Pencils, and Blender Pens. But the green pencil we have is not the same shade as the one in the DP so I don't love it as much.... And this is why it's nice that Stampin' Up! offers SO MANY products in the exact same shades, ha. It really does make a difference.
Supplies:
Stamps: Umbrella Days
Ink: Memento Black, Smoky Slate
Paper: Basic White & Melon Mambo card stock, Bloom Impressions DP (Sale-A-Bration)
Accessories: Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Umbrella Days Dies, big shot

So this one is my favorite- I used ink pads and blender pens to color this one, so the colors are "correct".
Supplies:
Stamps: Umbrella Days
Ink: Memento Black, Smoky Slate, Melon Mambo, Shy Shamrock, Peach Pie
Paper: Basic White & Melon Mambo card stock, Bloom Impressions DP (Sale-A-Bration)
Accessories: Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots, Blender Pens, Umbrella Days Dies, big shot

But, I'm going to use them both because I still like them!
And if you're having a week too, remember the sun will shine, no matter what it is. It might take some real time, but it will come.
