Summer Fun!

Hello again! Today I have the digital images of some scrapbook pages I've been putting together.

A couple years ago, two of my children loudly complained that "we didn't even do anything fun all summer" ...and they got a LOOK, and handed our list that we had come up with to maybe do over the summer, and all the things crossed out with a highlighter were things that we had done! Sheesh!

With that in mind, I made a four page layout for my youngest (one of the complainers) of the fun she had this summer. I chose one photo a day (two photos, twice), and skipped some days, including our big trip, and it looks like she did lots of fun stuff to meeee! This does not include countless afternoons out with neighborhood friends, nor a few bigger activities she went to elsewhere without me, that I don't have pictures of.

I also used a lot of images of the sun to fit Challenge #1 on Splitcoaststampers.com to put the sun or flames on a page. It was a perfect match, ha!

Supplies:
MDS:
Stamps: Days in December
Paper: Pool Party "mats", Sunny Day DP, "pocket cards" from Persnickety Prints
Accessories: Baja Breeze grosgrain ribbon, knot

Camp!

Barely the second week of school and we're already home sick. There has not been much time at all for crafting.
So today I have a triple page layout I made a few months ago. It is photos of years ago... and every single thing here is long retired. I love using my stash for scrapping!
Supplies:
Stamps: Just Perfect Alpha
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Sarah DP
Accessories: Regals Candy Dots (all the Garden Green!)

Petroglyphs!

I didn't mean to drop off the face of the earth. We spent an amazing week in Oregon, and then came home to me "having" to make peach jam for two days and my husband and big kids started framing the rest of the basement. We have two bedrooms finished down there and the rest is unfinished. But it's on it's way now! Also elementary school started this week and college starts next week and there's just been a LOT going on!!

Today was the first time in a while I've gotten to be crafty! I made some more pages of a trip we took last year, because of course I really want to do the latest trip, haha!

This was our second stop on this trip. We found several panels of petroglyphs, and the internet says they are from four different times periods, so that's pretty cool to me. We couldn't find the mining ghost town, but we did find it's cemetery.

Supplies:
Stamps: Just Perfect Alpha (retired)
Ink: Pebbled Path (retired)
Paper: Copper Clay, Wild Wheat (both retired)
Accessories: Mini Alphabet Dies, 2023-25 In Color Dots (retired), Circle Dies (retired)

That's all, folks!

Hello again and happy Thursday to you!

Time to make a little announcement here.
After 21 years and five months, I am choosing to no longer be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Look how little some of us used to be when I started this journey!
My start date fell on my birthday! You can see my friend and her daughter made me a cake, my husband brought home Taco Bell and fancy fudge, and flowers...put in the only pitcher we had at the time....weird. And the 2004 Annual Catalog! Happy birthday to me!

So, this means I won't have the latest catalogs or deals featured here anymore, but I will keep stamping. I have way too much in my craft room to just stop! Plus I don't expect to ever stop scrapbooking (31 years of that so far...) and I haven't bought a card from the store in yeears, obviously.

Case in point: a birthday card that has been mailed out already! It goes with the Inkspirational Challenge about "birthday"! DONE!
Supplies:
Stamps: Arched Wishes
Ink: Bermuda Bay (retired)
Paper: Basic White card stock, Cherry On Top DP (long retired)

Sand Hill!

Today I have another hybrid layout from the same trip. This spot was a huge hit for all the kids but especially my youngest. That girl loves dirt and sand in any form. The little dots up the hill between mine and my husband's heads in the center picture are our kids and some other people, ha. It was big and fun and sooo sandy and dusty!

The title has been in my head since I created this page so it had to be done! It comes from a Wiggles song of the same title, haha! Some of my kids were huge fans of The Wiggles.

This page was also for a challenge to use hot colors, liiike red, orange and yellow. DONE! I actually scanned in the now-retired Delicate Desert DP for the background. Then I added digital mats in Calypso Coral, and the cardstock for the title is also Calypso Coral.
Supplies:
Ink: Calypso Coral mats
Paper: Calypso Coral, Delicate Desert   - scanned in
Accessories: Mini Alphabet Dies

Green River

Happy Monday to you!
We are going on a big fun trip so I wanted to scrap the last big fun trip before that, ha. I've got about 1/3 of it done so far, but that's something!

This first layout was done in the long-retired MDS, then printed, then I die cut the letters for the title and glued it all down! I love MDS for fitting a BUNCH of pictures on a single layout.
Supplies:
Paper: Always Artichoke card stock (retired) Everybody's Business digi recolored to Always Artichoke
Accessories: Mini Alphabet Dies

The alphabet dies are new to me, and this was the first go. I have been wanting them a while...but also hesitating because how tedious is it to cut out allll the extra letters I may never use?? (this is why I haven't bought alpha stickers in actual decades...) The first run I used a sheet about the same size as the die. But this card stock is retired, which means I have a bunnnch of scraps. This pack happened to have a number of strips that were just the right width! Handy!! I tore off strips the length of the letters I needed and voila- no extras! (there were extras, lol, but not when it got down to the end) Anyway! If you're on the fence too about this die- here's my solution for you!
Also, I used the green liquid glue or the fine tip glue pen to adhere all those letters, haha!
I hope you're off to a great new week!

The Journey

Good morning and happy Friday! Busy weekend for me, as we prep for a fun trip!

Today's card looks like a very similar color scheme as yesterday, but it's not. The only same color is Daffodil Delight, but I did use that for both card bases.... hmm.

But for today, I combined the colors from CAS Colours & Sketches, the theme from The Paper Players, and the theme from Hand Stamped Sentiments! You can totally do "things with wheels" with "summer vibes"! The first thing with wheels I spied in my stash was this VW Bug with road trip suitcases. Yep- that says summer to me!
Lots of fussy cutting here! I meant to color the wheels, but I forgot. I did scuff up the car with a bit of Crushed Curry ink on a Blending Brush. I tapped it more than blended.
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Ride (retired!)
Ink: Memento Black, Crushed Curry, Garden Green
Paper: Basic White, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green
Accessories: Blending Brush, 2025-27 In Color Flat Pearls, Perennial Postage Dies, Dimensionals, big shot (retired)

Another Floral Thanks

(I feel like I've  used that title before...maybe a lot?)
Anyway, today I have a triple challenge card. I used the colors from Color Throwdown, the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and it fits the SUO Challenge to make something! Simple and cute- my favorite kind!
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Elements of Text
Ink: Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, Basic White card stocks

Triple Celebration

Happy Monday!
My first born celebrated another trip around the sun this past week, so when I had a minute, I pulled out his photo box that needs scrapped and decided to scrap this previous birthday! I started by trying to fit these pages into a specific challenge, but that didn't work out, so it's just a layout, ha. But done is done and I think this turned out fun with a bit of uniqueness for me.

Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Timid Tiger
Paper: Sweet Taffy DP (long-retired), Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Blending Brush
Journaling Font: Courier New

Summer!

Happy Monday to you!

Today's layout looks more like today, that's for sure.

This is actually of the last two days of school this past May. I helped at what was supposed to be a beach-theme party, but I was the only parent who signed up that day (they had a LOT going on and other parents signed up for other things, just not that day). I decided to sort of "dress up" like I was at the beach to help make it a little bit more fun. That meant I had to go to the store and buy a floppy beachy sort of sun hat, and exaggerated sunglasses. I didn't find a shirt or skirt... Mostly I just felt like an idiot, but that's how I remember class parties when I was a kid, so whatever, ha. The kids were seated on their beach towels instead of desks, and we played several rounds of bingo. I had bought prizes and the teacher had some too, and I think they all got two, maybe three, lol.

The second page was the last day of school which was done at noon. I had bought some surprise treats to kick off summer, and I also went to the thrift store several times during May looking for some new-to-her books (contributing to incomplete series' we own) that she enjoys. She got 21 chapter books that day, ha! That would make a serious impact on summer reading! And I always let my kids choose a special treat after the first and last days of school. I used to make a treat, but this week was too busy, so she got a donut and "special" milk, and was more than happy with that, ha.

Everything on this page is long retired, except a couple markers, and the white card stock, ha.
Supplies:
Stamps: ABC-123 Sketch Alpha (retired), Sunny Fun (retired)
Ink: Bermuda Bay (retired), Memento Black
Markers: Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay (retired), Cucumber Crush (retired), Watermelon Wonder (retired), Tip Top Taupe (retired)
Paper: Bermuda Bay (retired), Basic White card stocks, Cherry On Top DP (retired)

Winter Wonderland!

Yesterday hovered at 99* for hours. Then I ran an errand and it was 104*. Of course it was. YUCK. My parents arrived at their destination where it was 116* at dinner time. NOPE.
So today I played with snowy pictures! So there!!

Actually, this was for the current SUO Challenge to CASE Christy, and she is a scrapper, so that's what I decided to CASE. I didn't scroll back too far thru her pages, really I was looking for something I had printed the the same direction and quantity as she used. So I picked THIS POST from June. I changed the colors, DP, stamps and added a couple little dots.

Supplies:
Stamps: Peaceful Evergreens, Whimsical Alpha Lower
Ink: Basic Gray, Smoky Slate
Paper: Basic White, Soft Sky, Basic Gray card stocks, Peaceful Place DP
Accessories: Neutrals Candy Dots

And actually, this is the second time I scrapped these photos, ha. The above layout is for my older daughter, and the one for my younger daughter was done in April and hasn't yet been shared. I used the same pack of paper, but differently, and I used different stamps.

Supplies:
Stamps: Roughing It (1998), Berry Christmas (2009), Just Perfect Alphabet (2010)
Ink: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray,
Paper: Basic White c/s, Peaceful Place DP
Accessories: Metallic Pearls

I always like that you can use the same layout or supplies and make something quite different from the last.

Softball!

I hope you had a safe and happy weekend, and if you live in the United States, I hope you had a great Independence Day!

Today I have a softball layout! And some memories.
The year I was 10, my mom signed me up for softball and my brother up for baseball. Same city league. He had an actual grown up coach and got a shirt and a hat and this style of picture. I got three 8th graders as coaches (big sisters of some of the team..) They wrote bubble letters in puffy paint on tshirts for our team. The contrast was stark, to say the least. But that was our only year playing this kind of sport. Actually...I took dance a few times but that was the only paid sport for me (that was FINE!). The only thing I remember "learning" was that forfeit meant you have to have enough players, otherwise your team loses by default. (we lost every game except the time the other team had to forfeit.) Also, I don't enjoy anything about softball. Please don't ever throw the ball at me, or expect me to throw it back. I'm not good at batting and I am a *slow runner, ha.

Several months ago, my kiddo informed me she wanted to try baseball. We don't sport at our house, other than some soccer. She never seen a game, we didn't own a single baseball related thing. She has seen the movie Sandlot, but not for a few years... haha! We bought her a ball and glove, and she was on a team that got a tshirt and a hat, ha, and pre-named teams. Her coach was a real grown up, (ha- altho he was younger than I am...) and he did a great job. My kid learned a lot! She improved at all of it! But she didn't love it. It was a HOT season and most of her games were played between 95* and 98*, with the late afternoon sun beating down on all of us. I don't know that she'll do it again, but it's good to try new things!

I created these in the long-retired MDS. I knew I had a softball image there, ha. I "filled" them in with a dot image that honestly looks like scribbled gum drops. I added a little stitching, and the Texture overlay, which makes the edges look like canvas. And I took my colors from her team shirt and her ball. And the season is scrapped!

Supplies:
MDS
Stamps: Great Sport, Lemonade Stand dots, Texture
Ink: Basic Black, Barely Banana, Night of Navy
Accessories: Stitching Thread
Journaling Font: Brush Script title, Book Antiqua notes

New In Colors!

Happy stampy Saturday!

Since I finally got my new catalog order, I can play along with the latest SUO Challenge to use the new In Colors! I only chose three of the colors today.

(Also I didn't even get Darling Duckling ink... It doesn't strike me as a yellow I would like and at this point, I'm only buying what *I like most. I do really like the other four colors, altho I never purchased the Strawberry Slush ink pad when it was originally an In Color...)

Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Elements of Text
Ink: Timid Tiger, Cloud Cover, Secret Sea
Paper: Timid Tiger, Cloud Cover
Accessories: 2025-27 In Color Flat Pearls

I hope you're having a good Saturday and maybe doing something you want to today!

Flowery Note

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend and didn't melt. We actually got some lower temps over the weekend which were much appreciated.

Today's card is quick and cute! I took the colors and sketch from the Inspired By... blog. I don't think I've ever used this little flower image before so it was definitely time.
Supplies:
Stamps: Layers of Beauty, Simply Said
Ink: Real Red, Lemon Lolly, Summer Splash
Paper: Summer Splash, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Dimensionals

I am hoping for some more stamping time this week.....! Cautiously optimistic, ha.

Colorful roses

I got a thank you card made!

I don't know about you but I intensely hate cleaning the bathroom. I am deeply grateful for indoor plumbing, but man, oh man ... I hate cleaning it.

We have company coming so it had to be done and it had to be done now... So I bribed myself that if I would hurry and get it done I could make a card, haha!

Today's card combines the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, with the inspiration photo from SUO Challenges. Although I just realized that I accidentally turned the direction of the sketch...

I even know who this card is going to!

Supplies
Stamps: Layers of Beauty, Simply Said
Ink: Memento Black, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Country Woods DP, Peach Pie, Basic White cardstock.
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Layers of Beauty dies, big shot

Purple Pie Place

Still no time to make something, but time to share something!
This is a hybrid page. I scanned in this long-retired DP for the digital background! It was more than perfect, and I needed to fit a bunch of pics, so that's what I did! I actually then started scanning in all my DP for just such a reason and then stopped after two packs....I need to find a LOT of free time to work on that, ha.

Anyway, we came upon this cute little spot and decided it was a perfect time for a treat, and here's the result!

Supplies:
Cottage Wall (retired!) scanned in DP

Pizza & Games!

Look! A post two business days in a row! Crazy! Both are scrappy, ha.
This was a chill night at a motel in South Dakota. Yep- we got personal sized pizzas from Pizza Hut, and then played some family games before bed. But it was a fun evening together.

Supplies:
Stamps: Just Perfect Alpha (2010), Girlfriend Accessories (2002), Toy Box (2002)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizazz (retired)
Paper: Basic White, Bandstand Simply Scrappin' Kit (long retired)
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils

I would love some stampy time this week but I don't know if that will happen.... Today we're emptying out the basement to finally finish framing it and I think we're going to complete the storage areas. Like with sheetrock, lol. And this weekend we have a big family event. I hope you're having some creative time!

Strawberry Shortcake!

Hello again! Another summer Friday, and it's a busy one! But I got to scrap this week so here's a new page for you- altho everything is long retired.
I used three prints from this DP pack so that's helpful, haha. I do own the punch for the larger strawberries, but these were placed so randomly that I had to cut them out before punching anyway, so I just fussy cut the three. That was enough, ha.
Supplies:
Paper: Berry Delightful DP (retired), Basic White c/s
Journaling Font: Book Antiqua

EEK!

It is summertime, and that makes it difficult to get any crafting time in, no matter what else is going on. And stuff just keeps "going on"!
But this week I went to my parents for a couple days and got to play with paper! My mom hoped to get a small stack of Halloween cards ready to go, ahead of schedule, so we did! A bunch!! They're not super fancy, but they're fun and that is the point.

I'll share other close ups another time, but for today, I'm sharing the one I based on the current sketch from SUO Challenges

ETA Supplies: (thanks Christy!)
Stamps: Ghoulish Goodies, PP Sept 2016
Ink: Memento Black, Petunia Pop
Paper: Magenta Madness, Basic Black, Basic White

I neglected to get the name of the stamp set with the witch and the "eek". I know it's not super old, maybe 2023? But the "Happy haunting" came from a Paper Pumpkin kit, I think from 2016.
That purpley paper is ancient too, ha. It was Marvelous Magenta, and was in my starter kit, 21 years ago, and clearly not my favorite shade. However, it worked well with the current Petunia Pop ink, so that's what we did!

Class of 2025!

We are in the thick of graduation season!
I've had two children graduate, and I've made a number of graduation cards for cousins (my own and my kids') and friends and whoever, thru the years. But this year was the year I had the most graduation announcements come, ever! I really intended to make cards for everyone, but 2025 is killin' me Smalls, so I used cards from my stash, and nobody knows but you...HA.
A few were made with the intent to send to previous grads, but they didn't go out for one reason or another. If you still need an idea and you don't have a graduation-specific set to play with, or know their school colors, here's a few ideas, along with a few graduates peeking out, ha.
It's fine. Everything is fine.

Garage Birthday

Summer is here- it's hot, school is out, people don't wanna do chores..... Here we go!

I punted on graduation cards, (a later post) but this birthday card HAD to be made. I used the challenge from SUO Challenges to CASE the catalog...mostly. I did use strips of DP like the top card, and a couple items in place of the flowers and leaves, ha...
This birthday boy's favorite color is black, so black it is! This will also be arriving late, but I'm sending it anyway, so there! HA!

Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Said
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Basic Black, Basic White card stocks, Classic Garage DP (2020?)
Accessories: Circle Punch (retired), Dimensionals

Magical Day!

Today I have made a new card!!

This should have been mailed out already, but sometimes you do the best you can and that's all there is. This birthday girl got a blank card from me last year, so I'll be sure to write in this one, even tho it will be late ha. It is almost entirely made with retired supplies, but what does that matter if it's something you like?

I used the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch for the layout and I like how it turned out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Magical Day (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Bermuda Bay (retired)
Paper: Bermuda Bay (retired), Rich Razzleberry (retired) & Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils (some shades retired), Dimensionals

Paper Pumpkin for a Picnic

Well that unplanned hiatus took much longer than I would have expected...
My father in law passed away, and even tho he was 100 (really, really) it was still a sudden downturn, emotions have been high, it involved a lot of drive time and my house is still exhausted. I did pull out stamping a few times but I just didn't have it in me.

Yesterday I decided to make a scrapbook layout.
This picnic blanket paper came from a 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit. I am not a fan of the kit projects but I did think the paper would work nicely with picnic photos! And, by happy chance, there were die cut apples in the kit- which goes along with the picture of my youngest not quite able to eat an apple with a bunch of missing teeth!
Supplies:
Paper: Basic White, Poppy Parade card stock, July 2018 Picnic Paradise PP
Accessories: July 2018 Picnic Paradise PP, Transparent Dots (all retired)
Journaling Font: Century Gothic

And hopefully I'll be able to get more stamping done very soon! There are birthdays and graduations coming up that need cards!!

Make My Heart Smile

It's been one of those weeks years? where the hits just keep on hittin'... Today has been nothing like a normal Saturday, and I even had some time to stamp, so here's what I've got!

I combined the fun SUO Challenge colors, which reminded me of rainbow sherbet, with the latest Freshly Made Sketches.

I also did some heat embossing, which I haven't done in a very long time. Years, I'm pretty sure. It isn't perfect, I wondered if it would catch both layers and it didn't. The greeting is a bit shadowed too, but there's a card, lol!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Layers of Beauty
Ink: Peach Pie, Versamark
Paper: Lemon Lolly, Peach Pie, Soft Seafoam
Accessories: 2024-26 In Color Resin Dots, White embossing powder, heat tool

Latest Paper Pumpkin!

Lots going on at my house! Easter was a happy day. Now we've got college finals, a small trip coming up, and all the other life! But I really needed some crafty time, so here's something pretty!

This Paper Pumpkin kit is called Inked Occasions, and it came last week. I actually did not intend to receive this Paper Pumpkin kit, but I missed the deadline to skip it. Annnd I like it, so it's okay. ha. Altho, I am not entirely sure what I will use the cards of congratulations for... Oh well.

These are the nine card bases, so as I usually do if the back is printed, I started by cutting them in half for double the card fronts.

Then I quickly put together twelve cards, instead of just nine, and here they are!

Design 1:
Design 2:
Design 3:
Three bonus for today:

And then I have all this left:
That could make six more cards, or who knows what else? And it's really pretty!

Scrapbooking Dance

Hello again!
This afternoon I have a scrapbook layout for you. I had the idea to cut out little squares like the sequins on her costume. I used some long-retired glimmer paper, and another shade of pinky-purple for the squares- I just cut strips and then cut them into squares, and glued them down in a pattern.
Later, I'll add some journaling to the second page, across the middle.
Supplies:
Stamps: Just Perfect Alpha (retired!)
Ink: Petunia Pop
Paper: Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop card stock, 6x6 Glimmer Paper Asst Pack (retired, I used Bermuda Bay & Sweet Sugarplum)

Monochrome Celebration!

Hello again!
Today I have a monochrome card to play along with Inspire.Create.Challenges. I chose this color because I have it in DP and dots, lol! And because it's all sticking around, this one is going on my display board!
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies
Ink: Pretty in Pink
Paper: Basic White, Pretty in Pink card stocks, Unbounded Beauty DP
Accessories: Party Dots, Dimensionals, Circle Dies (retired), big shot (retired)

Die Cuts!

Good Monday morning to you! I hope you had a good weekend! I did! My husband and I took a little overnighter to see a show, and it was great little get away!

I have a new card for you! This one used retiring colors, so I used a retiring die set (the stamps are already sold out) and a different retiring greeting. And the dots are on their way out too! Sad, sad...! But, I have never used just the dies, so that made for something new and fun.
The colors come from CAS Colours & Sketches. I do love these two In Colors. And Blackberry Bliss has been one of my favorites as long as it's been around! I feel like I was able to keep this CAS even with the layers. Interestingly, the last time I used this bundle was with the same colors and the same challenge, ha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Encircled in Nature (retiring)
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pebbled Path (retiring), Moody Mauve (retiring), Blackberry Bliss
Accessories: Regal Foiled Dots (retiring), Cheerful Daisies Dies (retiring), Dimensionals, Glue Dots, big shot (retired)

Pastel Friend

Happy Friday! We made it another week! Today is a busy one at my house, starting with a school field trip to a farm!

Today's card uses the colors from Color Throwdown. They said "lavender, mint green and yellow" so I chose Fresh Freesia, Soft Seafoam and Lemon Lolly. I stamped in the purple and green and used a Blending Brush to add the yellow. And I rather love it. This one also gets to go on my display board!
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature
Ink: Fresh Freesia, Soft Seafoam and Lemon Lolly
Paper: Soft Seafoam, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Striped Trim ribbon, Dimensionals, Blending Brush

Beside Me

Today, once more,  I have a card featuring some retiring products. The stamps and the dots are on their way out! I used the "travel" theme from The Paper Players, and the colors from Hand Stamped Sentiments, and while the layout is a little weird, I still like the result!
Supplies:
Stamps: Watercolor World, Beside Me (both retiring)
Ink: Summer Splash, Pecan Pie, Pretty Peacock

Birthday Cupcake!

And THIS card makes today a three-fer, so I can get this one in before the deadline too! Wow... I didn't realize how many challenges were ending! But hooray for a crafty afternoon!!

I used the color combination from Just Add Ink, and since the colors are all sticking around, I used a stamp that is also sticking around! Yeay! I used a Blender Pen and ink pad to color in the image so it's not the *best coloring job, but it works. The dots I used are retiring, but it's fiiine. haha....
