Seems to me that across the US, including family living in unlikely areas, are getting way more snow than we are. It was a very dry December and we've only had one good storm the whole season, and that was January 4th, and what you see there, and this picture is deceptive, ha. But it was only good the first day, since then it's dried out and is hard, and not fun to play in. The last couple of days it has "snowed" most of the day, but we're not accumulating anything... Hopefully the mountains are, because that's what impacts the "water year" the most.
The other thing about the snowfall since Sunday, is that a lot of the time, the sun is shining as it's flurry-ing. Like this:
I got this new stamp set called Umbrella Days (in the Online Exclusives section!) and I love the sentiments it comes with! I can think of so many people who could use a card reminding them that the storms (of life) will end and the sun will shine. Also, I love these umbrella people! I also got this new DP from the Sale-A-Bration brochure and it might be my new favorite! Every sheet, both sides, are so pretty!!
So when I saw that one of the sheets matched a color challenge from The Paper Players, I knew what I was making! I actually thought I'd make a little set and color the girl slightly differently, but that only kind of worked, ha.....
This first one did not work. I just laid the die cut girl on the card to show the idea that might work better for someone else, hahaha..... I was going for a more abstract look, instead of perfection. I used blocks to ink up the image. The boots worked, ha! But the umbrella made it a mess...
and then I didn't line up the die quite straight, so that one got tossed. HA.
For this one, I used Watercolor Pencils, and Blender Pens. But the green pencil we have is not the same shade as the one in the DP so I don't love it as much.... And this is why it's nice that Stampin' Up! offers SO MANY products in the exact same shades, ha. It really does make a difference.
