My kiddo is half-obsessed with Harry Potter, ha. She has read the first book and listens to it on repeat, almost nightly. She has gotten to about half way thru the second book...and is apprehensive that it gets scarier and creepier...
We did go to Universal Hollywood in March, and we all loved their Hogsmeade. Some of us only enjoyed one ride (ME. It's ME), but the area was really cool.
Aaannyway, this kiddo has a birthday this month, so a friend-party was in order.
This will definitely be scrapbooked, but in the meantime, here's something we made, thanks to the smart people on the internets, ha!

Decor:
Clusters of potion jars and candles and who knows what, haha
Sugar cones set on Keebler Fudge Striped cookie, with mnm's inside- red, yellow, blue or green!
(and a smidge of chocolate frosting to hold it together)
Because of COURSE Professor Sprout grows finger grapes and pineapple in England!
(not quite... two assortment small bags of Jelly Belly, thanks. No ick.)
(these are red powder and crystals, so that was slightly disappointing)
We used this recipe for the butterbeer, and no cream.
https://kidsactivitiesblog.com/12973/harry-potters-kidsafe-butterbeer-recipe/#mv-creation-73Here I had to hide the name, but trust me that it totally worked. Also, she wanted it spelled correctly as it is in the book, AND she didn't want anyone to sit on it first, haha.
Activities:
Painting wands with black, brown or silver, on dowels I wrapped with hot glue and twine.
annnd then the wands were grounded to the table to avoid stabbing. Kids are rough.

And her friends reciprocated the theme with gifts including the Flying Ford Anglia lego set, the Fawkes lego set, a Harry Potter craft kit, a chocolate elder wand and Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans. Ew. haha!
