October Calendar Page 1

Well, we closed on our house last week, finally got the keys a few days later, and started moving in! We won't be done moving stuff in for another week or two, and we're going to get some painting and installing done before we actually move in. But that is definitely cutting into my creative time...! And so today's is another quick post.

I did get a calendar page done tho, and that's worth sharing! haha. This is the Halloween pics of all nine of my parents grandchildren!

Yes, I used MDS, and yes, it is retired. But maybe you have it or maybe you have some of these papers laying around! So here's a fun way to use it! haha!

Cards In The Mail!

I have gotten so many cute cards in the mail lately and haven't shared them in so long, that I am splitting them up! Today I have the fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving cards, and I've saved Christmas for a later day....but likely other cards will arrive by then, haha!

Creators names are added to each photo. Enjoy! I know I do!

Bridal shower!

One of the many things happening this fall in my world, is my brother's wedding! My mom and I hosted a bridal shower for his fiancée, with a recipe theme. 

To start, I made these cute invitations with my (sadly) long-retired MDS, and some cute kitchen and cooking themed stamps and DP. 

Then, I stamped index cards using another long-retired stamp set. Each invitation went out with an index card so that people could bring a recipe with them, or even mail back just a recipe if they were unable to attend. And that's exactly what some people did!

For the shower itself, I stamped more cards, so that people could leave "a recipe for a great date night" and/or a "recipe for a happy life together", but I didn't get any pictures of that...

I used a recent Paper Pumpkin kit to make a cute banner. It says "BRIDAL SHOWER"... and there are some photo posters....

And here's a close-up....

So that my kids could help (and stay busy?) they made this sign for the door. And the balloons are my husband's interpretation of my daughter's idea!

My son drew the bubble letters and my daughter colored them.

And the cute couple enjoying the shower, for good measure...!

So, you see, I haven't been completely non-creative.....just non-blogging. 

Paper Pumpkin September

Hello again! While on my little break, I still created a few things. Today's post is another fast one, but since I snapped a picture before delivering these, I may as well share it!

September's paper Pumpkin had a cute little way to share a treat. As is always the case for me, treat packaging goes to some ladies in the neighborhood, or from church. Turns out, these tiny tubes hold one m'n'm per layer, and that was perfect. I used the autumn colored m'n'm's out of two regular packages, for reference.

Blog Hop: Stepped Over!

Happy November to you!! The holiday season has arrived!
Today I'm playing along with the Blog Hop and I'm totally feeling a day late and a dollar short-
because I'm sharing a Halloween creation...
....to inspire you next year! Ha!

For a while we've been stepping our creations up a notch, and this time I'm stepping it "over". That means I'm making the same card twice, but once with a holiday spin.

First up, I have this pretty fall card, which I barely got in the mail on time!
(seriously...a day late on everything right now...!)
And for both cards I used last week's Freshly Made Sketch.

And then for my "stepped over" version, I have this fun Halloween card! I also added a bit to the background by heat embossing the creepy eyes, with clear embossing to make it subtle, and therefore just a little more spooky!

Gone again....!

Hello again!
I managed to post every week day for two weeks and I was hoping to make that last as long as I could.......! Which apparently that's what it was. Because this is what my life looks like now!

okay, actually hardly at all that peaceful and calm, but you get the idea... haha!
yes, she was just a little bit earlier than expected, but she's doing really well, so zero complaints on that front!
This is the top half of her birth announcement, which I assembled in MDS.
And I'm planning to visit my craft room again soon!

Cards In The Mail!

I've said it before and I'll say it again- I love getting these beautiful creations in the mail! As a demonstrator I love being able to feature products I may never buy and ideas I would never think of. Proper credit has been given to all the creators.

Have you sent a card lately? It really does brighten a person's day to see something in the mail that isn't another bill or more junk! In the meantime, enjoy these projects!

Paper Pumpkin take two...

If you saw yesterday's post with the August Paper Pumpkin kit, you might recognize some of today's supplies. I still needed some Thank You cards and I wanted to try something else with the kit...

I thought the colors lent themselves well to this adorable scarecrow, so it was time to break out the Cookie Cutter Halloween set! haha!

And this one is just a little bit different...I added some of the Early Espresso bakers twine, from the kit, and then popped up the greeting and scarecrow on Dimensionals. I also colored the scarecrow just a bit differently to try something else.

Thankful Thursday with Paper Pumpkin!

About a month ago, I focused on Thank You cards because I knew I would be needing them soon. I used up some Paper Pumpkin kits that day, and made a nice stack of them... and it wasn't enough! haha...! So earlier this week, I broke out my newest Paper Pumpkin kit (from August) and made some more Thank You's!
You're welcome for the break from Christmas, haha, and some autumny colors and images instead!

This is one of the original designs from the kit. The card is a little smaller than a standard card, and maybe it won't mail...I'll ask the Post Office for sure, but it's a cute card. The kit is designed to make three of these...

...and three of these! This card is the standard size, and it turned out cute too.

Then there are three gift card size notes, which I really have no use for. That means it was time to be more creative. This first one I made using the little note piece, and half the gift card envelope!

And this one I used Mint Macaron ink for the flower as the background, and another of the word stamps.

Fun, huh? I like this kit...! I'm even debating ordering a refill kit....!

Winter Friends!

Today I just have a quick post. I got more stamping done yesterday and that means blog posts! Yeay!

I used the fun sketch from Nacho Average Challenges and this cute Eskimo kid for a non-traditional Christmas card! What do you think about those?

A Christmas Star

Hello again!

Today I have what might be my new favorite Christmas card, CASED from Patty Bennett's idea HERE!
My card is actually different than her's, in more ways than one, but in my head I was making the same card she shared... haha! For one thing, her card uses copper and mine uses silver. I started by stamping the starry swirl in Island Indigo. Then I heat embossed the small stars on the white card front, and since I have the clear stamps, I put the tiny three and the single bigger on the block together and just rotated the block. The star base is cut out of Silver Glimmer paper, and then I added the Island Indigo cardstock in the more intricate pattern. I also used two word strips to the front.

The point is, I absolutely loved her card, and I love mine too! This is going to be a fun set!! I can't wait to try other colors and die combos!
